Journal 8: Mid Project

Hello welcome to my 8th blog!

Interpretative Reading

https://images.app.goo.gl/aVHRNMUDzYAEEeUVA

This meeting I will tell about the MID Project. In this MID Project, we were assigned to make a Podcast about 2 books we have read.

The first book I read was a book called Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, this book tells the story of the lives of four sisters, once in Concord, Massachusetts. Meg, the motherly beauty who dreams of being the princess of beautiful dresses. Jo, the Tomboy who loves books and literature. Beth, the Quiet one who is so talented at playing the piano. And Amy, little Michael angelo with stunning sketches on his drawing paper. Their days were simple, but filled with warmth. Although they never escape from problems, sadness, dissatisfaction, and even fights, they never stop loving each other and are very grateful to have each other. The mother who is always by their side gives a lot of inspiration and encouragement, while the rich boy named Laurie, who participates in each of the four girls' adventures, brings irreplaceable joy. Also this book has a film with the same title as the book, actually I have watched the film for a long time but I didn't really understand the storyline but at that time our lecturer gave us the task of reviewing the book so I choose this Little Women book which now makes me understand the story of Little Women.

Then in the second book, entitled Surrounded by Idiots by Thomas Erikson. If you read the title, it looks like it's not an educational book hahaha I was fooled by the title too but after I read a bit of the contents of the book, it turns out that this book is an educational book.

Surrounded by Idiots is an international book that has sold over 1.5 million books worldwide. This book describes a simple but very innovative method for assessing human personality, which is divided into 4 color types, namely Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow. This book provides insight into the proper way to communicate with each type, especially in the world of work. Through his books, Thomas Erikson helps us understand ourselves better, hone communication and social skills, handle conflict with confidence, improve dynamics with bosses and teams, and act. There are also simple tricks about body language, improving written communication, and advice on when to back off or when to push yourself forward, when to speak or not to speak.

Btw, I highly recommend these two books, because both books have their own messages that are very useful for us.

Alright! That's my blog on this time, sorry if there are wrong words or writing. Thank you! ♡♡♡♡♡

Journal 7: Main Ideas

Hello, happy good day! this is the 7th journal yay! btw today's 7th material is about Main Ideas.

Interpretative Reading
https://images.app.goo.gl/oSh6Yu8R4LNUMsDN

First, let me put the meaning of Main Ideas here.

What is a Main Ideas?
The main idea of a paragraph is the author’s idea about the topic. It is always a complete sentence that includes both the topic and the idea that the author wishes to express about the topic.

Our lecturer held a virtual meeting in Microsoft Teams this morning, in Teams our lecturer explained about Main Ideas. As in the 5th meeting on Topics, at this meeting we were also divided into 5-6 people into a room and discussed what the Main Ideas were about the sentence given by our lecturer. It was very fun during the discussion, of course we were also confused about determining the Main Ideas from one of these sentences, we found two possible choices, one of which was the Main Ideas.

After that we were given a quiz in Syam ok, there were 8 exercises that I did. There are three commands in the quiz, namely in the first command we are asked to look for Main Ideas from a sentence, then in the second command we are asked to Find the main idea when it is not in the topic sentence, and the last command is Stating the main idea. .
I'm grateful because this time I answered it well even though in exercise 5-8 I don't know whether my answer is correct or not because in the exercise we were asked to write down the topic and main ideas from several topics, but I think I did it pretty well.

Alright, this journal is enough to end here, see you in the next journal! please correct if there is a spelling or word error, thanks for reading! Enjoy your day with happiness ♡♡♡♡♡

Hello there? how are you? i hope your days always be pleasant and may God always give you happiness ♡♡♡

Interpretative Reading

https://images.app.goo.gl/fZTRLxeYB4sj5CbN8

In this 6th journal I will write about Topics of Paraghraps material.

So, What is a Paraghraps?
A paragraph is a group of sentences that are all about the same thing. That is, they all have the same topic.

As usual, we do a virtual meeting first with our lecturers in the Microsoft Teams application, at the virtual meeting our lecturer explains about paraghraps. after the virtual meeting we were given a quiz in Syam ok as usual to practice our accuracy and ability in these subjects.

In Syam ok there are 9 exercises that must be done, in exercise 1 I was very difficult to do it so I had to repeat the quiz up to 3 times hahaha. in the next exercises I was able to do this quite well thanks to the explanation from our lecturer.

To be honest I really like doing quizzes with options because for me it's fun hihi!

I think that's all I can write in this 6th journal, please correct me if I'm wrong in words or writing because it will help me learn more. ok thanks for reading! ♡♡♡♡♡

On this occasion we are already on Topics material.

So, What is a topics? Topic is the main subject or problem discussed by the text, discussion, etc.

Also, our lecturer held a virtual meeting to discuss the material about the Topics, this time it was very exciting because during the virtual meeting at Microsoft Teams, our lecturer divided us by entering us in a room which only contained 4-5 people with the aim of discussing assignments containing the words and find which one is the topic of discussion.

The fun part is when discussing which topic, even though at first our group was just silent because it was confused, of course I was too, but in the middle minutes to the end we started discussing excitingly, after the discussion time was up we automatically returned to the initial room where the lecturer and all classmates gather. after that our lecturer told us to explain our answers but with anyone's group who dared to explain the answer, my group didn't get a chance because we had doubts hahaha but that's okay we have had experience looking for topics and it was very fun.

Oh! Then we were also given a quiz in Syam ok as usual, I like this Topics material the most because I answered the quizzes with an average answer with only a few mistakes hihi ♡

Forgive me if there is a wrong word, please correct it and thank you for reading my blog! That's it for today, don't forget to always be healthy and happy ♡

Journal 4: Vocabulary Knowledge for Effective Reading

Hello! how are you? I hope you are well guys. So, at this meeting in the Interpretative Reading course, our lecturer explained one of the Microsoft applications called OneNote or Notebook.

Interpretative Reading

https://images.app.goo.gl/Sq8vSK2CtSSgkhri9

OneNote is one of the applications from Microsoft, this program functions to process user notes, images, screen clippings and audio comment. The application is very good because we can edit it if we answer wrongly and in this application there is also no deadline so we can think of the answer without rushing.

our lecturer held a virtual meeting as usual in Microsoft Teams, there our lecturer introduced us to Microsoft OneNote although at first I was very confused about how to use it but our lecturer taught us how to use it so that we understood how to use Microsoft OneNote. we also did activities there we also did some quizzes in Handouts such as guessing the meaning of a word you could say like looking for words that have similarities with the word then we were also asked to look at words we don't know (underlined and bolded words) then we were asked to see the grammatical structure of the sentence and determine the grammatical function of the word, and there are also recognizing words that connect ideas, looking for synonyms of a word, writing summary words or phrases from a predetermined list, and finally we are asked to number the sentence. available and fill in the table provided then fill in the references for each word.

Vocabulary is very important in everyday life especially in relation to our majors (Business English Communication).

So, I think that's all I can write in my blog this time, please correct any words that may be wrong and incorrect.

Thank you for reading my blog <3

Journal 3: Previewing and Predicting

Hello! It's me Fira, back to my Blog again! Today i want to share about Previewing and Predicting material.

Interpretative Reading

https://images.app.goo.gl/AbfZWPkNvmaGnRE77

Previewing and Predicting is previewing or predicting a text or narrative so that we can guess whether the text or narrative that we have is in accordance with the information we are looking for. We must have an underlying reason why we predict a text or a narrative. An example of its use is to see whether the cover of a book matches the information we need or not. we can also listen to the text read aloud, guess from the picture or the appropriate information.

Previewing and predicting before you read can make a big difference. You can get some ideas about what you will read. That way you will begin to process the information far more quickly. You will also be able to follow the writer's ideas better. Though it takes a few minutes to preview and predict, those few minutes are well invested. You will find that later you save reading time and gain comprehension.

on this material I still haven't answered well enough, in Exercies 7 there are 3 questions that I answered incorrectly, I was not careful and did not predict well what answer was right in accordance with the article. Then I also panicked a little because the time limit was left in the last 10 minutes so I wasn't focused and wasn't careful. on this material I still haven't answered well enough, in Exercies 7 there are 3 questions that I answered incorrectly, I was not careful and did not predict well what answer was right in accordance with the article. Then I also panicked a little because the time limit was left in the last 10 minutes so I wasn't focused and wasn't careful. I also don't really understand the article, yea this is my negligence in reading.

That's all I can share this time, thank you for reading my Blog! (๑・ω-)~♥

Journal 2: Scanning

Hello! Today I want to tell my experience about Scanning in the Interpretative Reading course.

Interpretative Reading

https://images.app.goo.gl/Q5YdqCavvm6K7gKq9

Before that the meaning of Scanning, Scanning is a reading technique to get information without reading others.

so in this scanning material, we are required to read quickly to answer questions that have a time limit. In this material, I quite enjoyed it, because it is fun to find answers quickly and at the same time training the speed of vision can also make us more agile in answering questions.

I answered well, although it does require accuracy in answering. but I've done my best in this Scanning material.

I think, that's all I can share in this second journal in Scanning material.

Thank you for reading my Blog! (。’▽’。)♡
